Hello, I'm Grandmaster Patrick Wolff. I've played chess for over twenty-five
years, and for over ten years I've been a professional chess
competitor, teacher, and writer.
Ever since my father taught me the moves when I was five years old
I've been hooked on chess! Fortunately, chess has been very good to
me. I won
the U.S. Junior (under 20) Championship in 1984 at the age of 16,
and then I won it again in 1987 at the age of 19. I became an
international grandmaster, the highest title one can earn, in 1990.
Since then I've been one of the highest-ranked players in the
U.S. My greatest competitive honor has been to win the
U.S. Championship twice, in 1992 and 1995.
During my professional chess career, I've taught people of all ages
and skill levels in schools, chess camps, and one-on-one. I've even had the privilege to be
the coach and trainer for Viswanathan Anand, who challenged Garry
Kasparov for the World Championship title in 1995. And it has been my
pleasure to write many books and articles on chess.
I think the Internet is incredibly exciting for chess. My hope is
that this Website will
provide a unique and effective training method for you. If you have
any feedback or suggestions for how this Website could be improved,
or if you just want to contact me, please email me with the Feedback
Form.
Good luck in all your future chess games!
